Collectors can find many interesting articles in small town shops, estate sales and auctions. In Drumheller shops such as Second Impressions and Scrapbooking, both located downtown, have plenty to interest the avid collector. Second Impressions offers “a beautiful blend of antique and modern masterpieces,” says proprietor Patrice Wolf. The Heritage Store at 1102 Highway 9 also has a good selection of items for those with eclectic tastes. Just a few kilometres south of Drumheller on Highway 9 is That’s Crafty. Stop there and have one of June Evans’ famous cinnamon buns in her Tea Room, then scout through the antique barn for items from another era. Even places such as the East Coulee General Store have some unusual collectibles available.
Local auctions and estate sales are another great option to investigate
for antique hunting. Many of those treasured most sought pieces after
turn up at these sales. Most of these auctions, estate sales, and small town annual antique
show and sales are advertised in the classified pages of The Drumheller
Mail newspaper. After a hard day of antique shopping, there are many local antique
museums in the area worth checking out and you will you will find them
advertised in the Weekender.
