After a fun-filled weekend, teams from all over Drumheller have hung up their gloves. The 2012 Drumheller Mixed Slo-pitch Association season has come to a close.
Dipping his right leg in the Atlantic Ocean near St. John’s Newfoundland, Terry Fox began the Marathon of Hope on April 12, 1980. Running for 143 days, Fox captured the hearts of Canadians and managed to raise $1.7 million for cancer research before he was forced to stop the marathon due to his own cancer complications. He passed away on June 28, 1981.
