Acme Dragons needing votes to win

In May of this year, BMO Financial Group announced the Acme U10 Dragons, a girls and boys soccer team, as a winner of their Team of the Week contest.

It is now up to the public to vote and determine who will be the champions.

Being one of 15 teams selected across Canada, Acme Dragons coach Tara Sawyer said they were greatly honoured to be selected and the kids were absolutely ecstatic.

The winning team will walk away with the $125,000 grand prize, which will be used to refurbish the winning team's soccer facilities and programs.

“I hope all of Alberta gets behind us now. Winning would make a huge difference to our grassroots program,” said Sawyer.

Voting will take place from August 13 to 27.  Any Canadian resident can vote once per day throughout the voting period.

“We are the only Alberta team in this national contest. The impact [of winning] on our town, soccer district and soccer program would be immense,” said Sawyer.

Vote online from August 13 to 27 at BMOsoccer.com.
