Locks on chopping block for Jumpstart

In the not too distant future Adam Henrickson is going to have some tough decisions about new hairdos.

Henrickson is an employee at Drumheller Canadian Tire and has pledged to cut his hair for a good cause. He said co-worker Shari Christensen talked him in to the idea to support Jumpstart.

“I thought why not? It’s for a good cause,” said Henrickson.

Jumpstart is the Canadian Tire charity that is dedicated to removing barriers for children to participate in organized sports and recreation. One in three Canadian families are not able to enroll their children in organized sports. Jumpstart helps kids get into the game by helping to cover registration fees or transportation and even equipment.

He has pledged that if he raises $500 he will cut his locks into a mullet. If he raises $1,000 he will get a “buzz cut.” If he raises $2,500 he will go for a clean shave of his head.

He has set August 3 as his target date. Within one day of announcing his project he had already raised $130.

To see Henrickson with a new look, simply head to Canadian Tire to make a donation.
