The senior Drumheller Titans cruised to a solid win over Olds on their way to the post season.
The Titan faced Olds on their home field on Saturday night, and Drumheller had their offense firing on all cylinders as they cruised to a 41-6 victory.
“That is the best quarter our offense has had.” Said coach Fournier. In fact, down the stretch, officials invoked a mercy rule and saw the clock not stop.
Fournier said the team played clean and that was a big help.
“The difference is we didn’t take a whole bunch of penalties that kills drives and we kept moving the ball,” said Fournier.
He says while Olds is a young team, they are a well-coached team that will improve, and in this game, they protected the ball well not committing any turnovers.
“They didn’t give us anything we didn’t have to earn,” said Fournier. Colton Enns had a great day with two runs over 50 yards.
The road to the provincials doesn’t get any easier for the Titans. This weekend they are hosting Canmore, another team looking to the post season.
“They are another team really pushing to get into provincials and compete,” said Fournier. They are a well coached team and they can roll out well, and they can throw the ball from sideline to sideline. On defense, our DBs are going to have to have a good game because the quarterback is going to throw it,” said Fournier.
The Titans host Canmore this Saturday at 2 p.m. Next Wednesday they play Forest Lawn in Calgary.
