Condolences to the family of Lillian Gaye Dube

1959 - 2018

Lillian passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 59 years. She was born in Olds, Alberta to Gwen and Maurice Dube. At the age of six years Lillian went to live at Michener Center in Red Deer until moving to DRUMHELLER AND REGION TRANSITION SOCIETY in the 1980’s and resided there until her passing. She leaves to mourn her father: Maurice Dube of Innisfail, her brother: Gerald Dube of Wimborne and sisters: Linda Newman of Innisfail and Doris (Steve) Tucker of Red Deer. She will also be fondly remembered by nieces: Michelle (Max) Forestburg, Nicole Dube, Amanda Cardinal, and great niece Charlotte Forestburg and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. She will be sorely missed by caregivers Shirley Kaye, Lea Kozak, Alisha Kure and the rest of the staff at Darts. Lillian was predeceased by her grandmother Gwendoline and nephew Jedediah, brother in law Murray Newman and her sister in law Margaret Dube. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Wimborne Community Hall on September 8, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made in Lillian’s name to Drumheller and Region Transition Society (105 3 Ave E, Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y0) or Canadian Mental Health Association ( 5017 50 Ave, Red Deer, AB T4N 4B2)

It is with great sadness that the family of Mike Musteca announces his passing after a year long battle with cancer, on Wednesday, July 18 at the age of 77. Mike
will be lovingly missed and remembered by his daughter Tammy and her husband Darrell, and Mike’s son Michael. Mike will also be fondly remembered by his grandsons Mathew, Aaron, Trevor, Ryan, and Kyle, and by his sisters Polly, Mary, and Anne, and many other family and friends. Mike is now reunited with his beautiful wife Carol in heaven. We would like to thank the many doctors and nurses that have taken care of dad over the last year with a very special thank you to all the staff at the Palliative Care Ward at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, who are the most loving, kind, compassionate, loving, and caring people we have ever met. His death, from liver cancer, was peaceful, painless and quick, which was the way he wanted to go. Survived by wife Helen, son Brett (Katherine), daughters Rebecca (Steve) Kinzel and Allison (Phil Saunders), grandchildren Sarah Kinzel and Isobel Windle; brothers Patrick and Jack, sisters Peggy, Dolly, Mary, Trudy and Connie. Longtime employee of Worley Parsons/Colt/Cord, he also worked for R Plus, Foothills Pipeines, Nova and Alberta Gas Trunk Line. A character: intelligent, funny, friend to all - he will be sadly missed. A memorial wake will be held from noon - 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 at the La-Zee-Za (his favourite watering hole) at #7, 12 Castleridge Blvd. N.E. in Calgary. The following day (Sunday, September 16), anyone who golfs and cares to sign up, is invited to Give’r FORE Liver, a liver cancer charity tourney at Fox Hallow in Calgary.
