His death, from liver cancer, was peaceful, painless and quick, which was the way he wanted to go. Survived by wife Helen, son Brett (Katherine), daughters Rebecca (Steve) Kinzel and Allison (Phil Saunders), grandchildren Sarah Kinzel and Isobel Windle; brothers Patrick and Jack, sisters Peggy, Dolly, Mary, Trudy and Connie. Longtime employee of Worley Parsons/Colt/Cord, he also worked for R Plus, Foothills Pipeines, Nova and Alberta Gas Trunk Line. A character: intelligent, funny, friend to all - he will be sadly missed. A memorial wake will be held from noon - 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 at the La-Zee-Za (his favourite watering hole) at #7, 12 Castleridge Blvd. N.E. in Calgary. The following day (Sunday, September 16), anyone who golfs and cares to sign up, is invited to Give’r FORE Liver, a liver cancer charity tourney at Fox Hallow in Calgary.
