She was born July 24, 1921 in Austin, Manitoba and passed away peacefully on April 10, 2011 surrounded by her family. Muriel will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Eileen (Audie) Kievits, Carol Ann (Reg) Humphrey; her son Lorne (Dene) Martin; her seven grandchildren, Darcy, Melanie (Brett), Troy (Cindy), Trevor, Ryan, Boyd (Leonie), Lindsay (Bryan); nine great grandchildren, Slater, Hallie, Kayla, Cassie, Morgan, Kolton, Emersynne, Keira, Avery and one on the way; her dear sister Elsie (Geo) Humphrey; her brother Alvin (Marion) Tario; sisters-in-law Bessie Smith, Edythe Martin and Margaret Martin. She was predeceased by her loving husband Harold in 1982, her parents, sister Doris and brother Earl. A Celebration of Life will be held at Knox United Church, 195 -3 Avenue East, Drumheller on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Michichi Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Muriel’s name to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 204, 2323 – 32 Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 6Z3.
