SMEAL, Irene Patricia (Sallows)

Irene Patricia (Sallows) Smeal passed away peacefully on January 26, 2011 at the Drumheller Health Centre with her family at her bedside. Irene was predeceased by her husband Albert and her son Don. She is survived by her daughter Agnes (Gene) DeMott, sons Richard (Roberta) Smeal, Ralph (Sherry) Smeal, daughters Joyce (Max) Burnham, Helen McConathy, Lorna (John) Simpson, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Irene leaves behind two surviving brothers, Ian (Gerda) Sallows of Drumheller and Garnet (Maureen) Sallows of Grande Prairie, sister-in-law Marjorie Sallows of Drumheller, and many nephews and nieces. Irene and Albert lived in the Michichi district until 2004 when they moved to Drumheller. Irene resided at Sunshine Lodge in Drumheller with many friends and neighbours until her passing. A celebration of Irene’s life will be held at The Grace Lutheran Church on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon to follow at the Drumheller Inn in the Banquet Room. An interment will be held at 3:30 p.m. at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Calgary, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Drumheller Health Centre.
