With great sadness we announce that Thomas Robert Richmond, beloved husband of Jean, passed away January 25, 2010 at St. Mary’s Health Care Centre in Trochu, AB at the age of 76 years. Tom was born to Bob and Stella Richmond in Rumsey, AB, March 23, 1933 where he grew up and received all of his schooling. He moved to Brooks with his family in 1953 where he met Jean. They were married June 18, 1955. In 1956 they moved to Rumsey, where Tom had a trucking business until 1962 when they bought their farm. Tom was very involved with the Rumsey Rodeo Club in the 1960s and with the Rumsey 4H Calf Club as all three of their daughters were members. He loved working with his horses and cattle and will always be remembered as a great horseman. Tom is survived by his loving wife, his three daughters, Debra (Jeff) Anderson, Sherry Richmond, and Pamela (John) Kvellestad, his nine grandchildren, Ryan (Aaron) Burnett, Christina (Chris) Harvey, Wesley, Casey and Robyn Anderson, Lindsay, Stephanie, Johnny and Katherine Kvellestad, his three great grandchildren Josiah, Ethan and Micah Harvey, one brother Leonard (Eleanor) Richmond and three sisters, Laura (John) Griffith, Lynda (Dave) Cochrane, Heather (Serge) Rosseau, sister-in-law Joan Frank and many nieces and nephews. Tom is predeceased by his father and mother and his father and Mother-in-law Archie and Blanche McKellar. Funeral services will be held at the Rumsey Hall in Rumsey, AB, Friday, January 29, 2010 at 2 pm with Rev. Pat Dyson officiating.
