How long have you lived in the valley?
I just moved here two weeks ago.
Who do you work for?
I am self employed and my company name is JD Steam.
What do you like most about your job?
Promoting the Eco-friendly steam cleaning system.
Where were you from before moving here?
I was born and raised in Calgary.
What do you like so far about living here?
The warm, friendly and helpful people.
What is your top travel destination?
Hawaii.
What do you like to do while on vacation?
Swimming, snorkeling and I want to try surfing.
If you could travel through time, when would you like to visit?
The 1950’s because it was a simpler time of life.
What sort of activities have you done so far?
Fun night curling, toured the BCF, Aquaplex and have gone to some of the restaurants.
Choose one thing to eat the rest of your life?
Beef Jerky.
Favorite Band?
ACDC.
Your favorite movie?
Casino.
Who is your favorite author?
Dean Koontz.
Favorite sports?
Flames hockey and Stampeder’s football.
What song would you like to be playing when you enter a room?
Thunderstruck.
What super power would you want?
Mind reading.
Have you kept your New Year’s Resolution?
Yes, I quit smoking Christmas Day and I have already made it 3 weeks.

How long have you been doing that for?
Just over six months now.
What do you most enjoy about your work?
There’s so many little things. Overall, interacting with the community and my co-workers.
How long have you lived in the area?
I moved to the Hussar area two years ago.
Where are you from?
Caroline, Alberta. My Mom attended high school with figure skater Kurt Browning.
What do you miss most about living in Caroline?
The trees, and the lakes.
What do you most enjoy about living here?
The landscape is nice here, and the people are nice.
What would be a neat addition to the valley?
I think a zip line would be pretty cool. Or a place like Benihana, where they chop & cook the food in front of you.
What’s a favourite comfort food for you?
Probably any kind of pie -I like them all.
What’s something most people wouldn’t know about you?
I was a certified open water SCUBA instructor.
How did that come about?
Former high school principal in Caroline held an after school marine biology program.
Where did you make your first SCUBA dive?
A swampy little lake with a very muddy bottom near Caroline.
How do you SCUBA with that much mud?
Carefully.
What’s in your future plans?
Head down to Texas to see the Dallas Cowboys play.

How did you become interested in that work?
I took Foods Class in school and really enjoyed it, so stuck with it.
What’s your favourite thing to cook and why?
For myself, probably steak or burgers. They’re fairly simple and quick to do for  myself.
How do you like your steak?
Depending on the chef, I’ll go blue rare or rare.
Do you watch the food shows on TV?
I listen to food shows through an app on my iPod.
Would you like to open your own restaurant one day?
Yes, if the opportunity came up. I’d probably start with a little bit of everything from wraps to seafood to salads and steaks.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Probably the great staff. They’re fun to be around and make for a great work environment.
How long have you lived in Drumheller?
My entire life.
Is there anywhere else you’ve dreamed of living?
There’s a few places. I’d like to live where there’s less cars and roads, and more trees and dirt. Or by a beach and an ocean.
So you need Matt’s Steak and Crab Shack, on a beach...
...With a house connected, and a surf shack, and I’d  have everything I need.
What do you do in your downtime?
Not much in the winter. Summer I  longboard, skateboard, play sports.
What’s a favourite saying?
We’ve got money for wars, but can’t feed the poor.- Tupac Shakur.
