Over the three day period rodeo fans will be treated to as much riding, racing, wrestling and roping as they can handle. Elder expects anywhere between 3000 and 4000 people to visit the grounds this year. Other events planned include free pancake breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday, July 29th, followed by a parade at 10 a.m.
There is also a beer garden and dance, beef on a bun lunch, relay race, magic show and the ever popular chuckwagon and chariot races. Friday and Saturday also offer the live entertainment of Big Mike Callum and the Honky Tonk Hitmen band. Admission prices are $10 for adults and $6 for students on Friday, and $15 for adults and $7 for students on Saturday and Sunday. A weekend rate is also offered for $110 that includes admission for two adults and children under 18. To find Rockyford, travel west from Drumheller on Highway 9 to Highway 836 and turn left, and follow the signs.
