In celebration of Rosebud’s 25 anniversary season, theatre buffs can see two popular plays, back-to-back until August 30. “It’s a beautiful, relaxing drive from Calgary to Rosebud,” says Bob Davis, Rosebud Theatre’s Executive Director. “Prior to Fiddler on the Roof, theatre goers get to experience a wonderful buffet meal prepared by Executive Chef Pat Murphy and his staff. It’s also an excellent time to visit our new outdoor patio made especially for our 25th anniversary season.”
Davis explained that in between performances, patrons
have ample time to stretch their legs, browse through Rosebud’s local
shops and leisurely walk over to their next show. Fiddler on the
Roof is a hit musical and is Rosebud Theatre’s largest performance to
date. For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again, is one of the best known
plays from Canadian Playwright Michel Tremblay.
Rosebud Theatre is approximately an hour’s drive
northeast of Calgary, nestled in the picturesque country hamlet of
Rosebud, Alberta. Now in its 25th season, Rosebud is Western Canada’s
largest rural theatre company. It has gained an international
reputation as a premiere Canadian destination for high quality live
theatre performed at the Rosebud Opera House. In 2006, Rosebud Theatre
received Travel Alberta’s prestigious “Alberta Pride” ALTO award for
capturing the essence of the Alberta experience for travellers, and in
2008 it received the inaugural Rural Tourism Champion Award. Annually,
more than 40,000 patrons enjoy the “Rosebud Experience” of professional
theatre, complemented by unique dining, art galleries, museums and
shopping. Rosebud is also home to Rosebud School of the Arts, a
post-secondary educational institution that offers conservatory
training in theatre and music to students, many of whom advance to
perform in productions by Rosebud Theatre. You can go to
