The Calgary Stampeders and a Calgary businessman are treating Drumheller’s Community Football Association(DCFA) to seats at the CFL’s Western Final.
Greg Stahl,  president and owner of southern Alberta’s New West Truck Centres, paid for 50 tickets for DCFA, and the Calgary Stampeders will be donating another 50 tickets.
Scott Bentley, Calgary Stampeders Sales Executive, said the team sent a ticket offer for the November 23 Western Final to all minor football associations across Alberta, as a year end event for the minor teams.
Bentley said the Stampeders were hesitant to the send the same offer out to Drumheller’s club because of its financial stress due to the vandalism at it’s buildings in September.
The Stampeders reached out to businesses, and New West offered to partner with the Stamps to get the 100 tickets to the Drumheller group free of charge.
“It’s a great opportunity, and it’s amazing that something great is coming out of such a bad thing,” said DCFA’s Koren McDougald.
The Calgary Stampeders clinched their second straight Western Division title with a win over the Winnipeg Bluebombers October 18.
