Dragons fall to Oilers Friday night





The Okotoks Oilers took a 3-2 win over the Drumheller Dragons Friday night in Okotoks.
The Oliers scored three straight goals before the Dragons' Hunter Mills scored for the Dragons at the end if the second. The only third period goal also came from the Dragons, a goal by Clint Flibrandt. The Dragons now host the Camrose Kodiaks at the Memorial Arena Saturday night. Puck drop is 7:30 p.m.

Dragons fall to Kodiaks in overtime

The Drumheller Dragons took a 4-3 overtime loss to the Camrose Kodiaks on Tuesday afternoon.

The Dragons’ Marcus Messier scored his first goal as a Dragon, opening the scoring at 3:43 of the second period. The Kodiaks answered back just a few moments later before Rory Davidson scored giving the Dragons a 2-1 lead.

The Kodiaks opened the third period with two goals before Messier scored his second of the night tying the game and forcing an overtime period.

At 2:37 of overtime, the Kodiaks scored winning the game.

The Dragons now travel to Okotoks to face the Oilers Friday night before returning home Saturday to host the Camrose Kodiaks. 

Dragons take one point in overtime loss to Bonnyville

The Drumheller Dragons went home with one point following their game against the Bonnyville Pontiacs Saturday night.
The Dragons' Dakota Zaharichuk opened scoring early in the first giving the Dragons a 1-0 lead until early in the second when the Pontiacs tied the game. Rory Davidson gave the home team the lead once again, just over halfway through the second. The Pontiacs scored a second goal on the power play late in the second, but the Dragons' Jacob Schofield scored a third to give the home team the lead once more. Early in the third period the Dragons took a five minute penalty and although they killed the time, the Pontiacs scored just after to tie the game forcing an overtime period. One minute and twenty-six seconds into the overtime period, Bonnyville scored winning the game.
The Dragons will now travel to Camrose Tuesday afternoon to face the Kodiaks at 4 p.m.
