Dragons take one point in overtime loss to Bonnyville

Sarah Devereaux

The Drumheller Dragons went home with one point following their game against the Bonnyville Pontiacs Saturday night.
The Dragons' Dakota Zaharichuk opened scoring early in the first giving the Dragons a 1-0 lead until early in the second when the Pontiacs tied the game. Rory Davidson gave the home team the lead once again, just over halfway through the second. The Pontiacs scored a second goal on the power play late in the second, but the Dragons' Jacob Schofield scored a third to give the home team the lead once more. Early in the third period the Dragons took a five minute penalty and although they killed the time, the Pontiacs scored just after to tie the game forcing an overtime period. One minute and twenty-six seconds into the overtime period, Bonnyville scored winning the game.
The Dragons will now travel to Camrose Tuesday afternoon to face the Kodiaks at 4 p.m.
