Saints win league championship

The St. Anthony's Saints junior high boys basketball team have won their league championship after an exciting match versus their crosstown rival DVSS.
The league championship took place at DVSS on Tuesday, March 11. Both teams had stellar seasons, with the Saints placing fourth at the 2J Zones, and the Dynos winning Silver at the 3J zones. Both teams had met twice this season, with split results.
The Saints were down early but regained the lead by the half. The team dialed down of defense and continued to add to the lead, and took a 62-46 win.
“It was a huge win for the season, especially after the heartbreaking loss in the bronze medal game at zones,” said coach Gavin Makse.
He said the team rose to the occasion.
“For everyone, it was their best game of the season, whether they only played a couple of minutes or played the whole game,” said Makse. “I was really proud of the team, it was a great way to end the season.”
This wraps up the season for both teams.
