Drumheller team wins top pool honours

WCVNEA 2025 WINNERS

A Drumheller pool team won top honours at one of the largest pool tournaments in Canada.
The Busboys, who play in the local Big Country Amusements League, competed at the Western Canada Valley National 8-Ball League Association (WCVNEA) Championships in Edmonton from February 13-17 at the River Cree Casino and Event Centre.
The tournament featured 2,500 participants, and 370 teams, with 1,200 singles players, battling over five days.
The Busboys, with players Ed McHune, Jordan, Chris, Rick Bulechowsky and their captain Curtis Cartwright played in the Intermediate Teams Division, the largest division at the tournament.
The battle started at 8 a.m. on Friday, February 14, and wasn’t settled until Monday at 8 p.m., after a gruelling 40 hours of pool.
The Busboys were undefeated throughout the tournament.
