Basketball is a simple game where all that is needed is two teams, a ball and two hoops. However, it also needs a referee.
To help get more interest in officiating basketball, there is a local clinic coming up on Saturday, November 26. There is always a need for more officiating to make the season go smoothly.
The one-day clinic is open to anyone in Grade 10 or older, and there is no previous experience required. The clinic will give prospective referees a solid grounding in the rules of the game and how to officiate on the court. Refereeing is good way to keep in shape and maybe earn a few dollars.
The clinic runs from 9 a.m., to 1 p.m. at St. Anthony’s School. Those wishing to attend are to bring clean indoor footwear and clothing suitable to run on the basketball court.
