The DVSS Senior boy’s basketball team wrapped up the season with a strong showing at the zone tournament, winning the consolation.
The Dynos qualified for zones with a sixth place ranking and travelled to Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs for the South Central 2A Zone tournament on the weekend of March 11 and 12.
“We did play our best basketball of the year at zone,” said coach Jeff Messom.
The teams started the tournament versus the number 3 seeded Strathcona Tweedsmuir School of Okotoks, but lost by 11 points. This put them on the consolation side of the draw to face Notre Dame Collegiate from High River.
The Dynos won by a convincing 25 points and set them up to play in the consolation final versus Prairie Christian Academy of Three Hills. Again, the Dynos showed resolve and won by 18 points.
The Dynos will see six seniors graduate from the team this year.
