Local High School rinks win gold and silver

Morrin girls curling

On the weekend, March 3-5, the ASAA High School Provincial curling competition saw curlers from Morrin and Delia win  gold and silver medals. Morrin  High School girls won gold medals and this was their second consecutive ASAA Provincial Gold Medal in Girls. Their last game was played against Dr. Folkins Community School from Chauvin, slipping in to  win 8-7.  Skip Katie Primrose said, “An exciting game, we worked well as a team and never gave up.  We were looking forward to winning and watching all our hard work pay off.  We were ahead 4 points at the end of the sixth.  Then Dr. Folkins rink  scored 5 points, leaving us down one. Coming home with the hammer, we scored two  and the  win. It was an intense game.”

Delia High School Boys rink also did well, winning silver medals.  The team lost a closely played game to Strathcona High School from Edmonton
