The Drumheller Dragons took a mid week road trip to face the Saints in Spruce Grove Wednesday night.

Spruce Grove opened the scoring at 3:55 and followed that with a power play goal at 6:32 to take a 2-0 lead.

The Dragons’ Matt Muzyka put his team on the board at 7:22 but the Saints scored two more goals one of which was on the power play.

There was no scoring in the second period but the Dragons came out strong in the third period scoring three straight goals by Connor Boyd, Jacob Schofield and Clint Filbrandt to tie the game at four goals each. The Saints scored a fifth goal at 17:54 to win the game.

The Dragons will now host the Calgary Canucks tomorrow (October 23). The Dragons have played the Canucks three times so far this season. The first was the Dragons season opener, which they won 5-1. The second and third times, in Calgary the Dragons only scored one goal against the team on October 13 (final 5-1 Canucks) and no goals last weekend (October 17) when the final score was 5-0.

Game time is 7:30 at Memorial arena. Saturday night the Dragons will head to Olds to face the Grizzlys.
