Dynos place 7th at home tourney

The DVSS Dynos senior boys basketball team had a slow start to their home tournament, but were able to win their final game to end on a high note.
The Dynos hosted the Battle in the Badlands last weekend and were hoping to repeat as champions, however this goal was dashed in the first round.
The Dynos faced J.H. Picard of Edmonton. At half time, Picard had a 5-point lead. The Dynos were able to close it off, but lost by a single point, 63-62. Matt Herman and Bret Van Kannel both had big games with 16 points each and Talon Marshall had 12.
This put the Dynos on the consolation side of the draw and up against J.R. Robson of Vermillion, which has a provincial honourable mention. This too was a close game, but the Dynos fell 71-64.
This bumped the team to the 7th place round where they faced South Central. This time the Dynos flexed their muscles and dealt a convincing blow to the Oyen team, winning 101-34. Talon Marshall was the top scorer with 23.
J.H Picard, the team that beat the Dynos out advanced to the Saturday night finals to play Holy Cross Collegiate of Strathmore. The Strathmore team won the tournament 61-58.

Dynos point guard Cienna Sands gets ready to put the moves on one of the Three Hills Royals.
