The Senior Boys and Girls Sabres are looking to start the new year on a strong note with their ninth annual Invitational Basketball Tournament.
The Sabres have been in full hoops swing and have met with some success. They will be returning to the court on January 11 and 12 for their home tournament and have invited some good quality teams to the round robin competition.
The action starts at 1 p.m. on January 11 when the boys take on Morrin. The girls follow at 2:30 p.m. also taking on Morrin.
Other teams at the tournament include Forestburg, who, on the girl’s side have an honorable mention in the 1A provincial rankings, and Bassano, who often put top quality teams on the court.
The Sabres end Friday night on the court versus Forestburg. The boys play at 7 p.m. and the girls at 8:30 p.m.
Action starts up again on Saturday at 9 a.m. when Morrin takes on Bassano and then Forestburg. The Sabres end the day versus Bassano. The boys play at 3 p.m. and the girls at 4:30 p.m.
This will be the first senior high school tournament at the new St. Anthony’s School.
