The team, coached by Gavin Makse, Tom Stolz and Shannon Doel, was at Glenmore Athletic Park on Wednesday, June 5 to compete in the South Central High Junior High Zones. Despite blustery conditions, the athletes excelled.

Haylea Crone competed in the 400m and placed tenth, with a time of 1:13.94. In the 800m she clocked a time of 2:55 for a fifth place finish.

Michael Peters competed in the Bantam 400m, with a time of 1:07.04 for a sixth place finish.

Spencer Aulenbach competed in the Midget Boys Long Jump and a 4.2 metre leap earned him an eighth place finish. In the Triple Jump he placed seventh with a jump of 9.42 metres.

Coach Makse said he was impressed with the team’s performance in that four athletes were able to earn four ribbons for their efforts.

This follows up on the performance of Jakub St. Jean, the lone senior high competitor for the school. He competed at zones at Foothills Athletic Park on May 23. He ran in the Junior Boys 1,500m and placed eighth. In the 800m he placed ninth. He also competed in the Long Jump and came in twelfth place.
