The athletic achievements of St. Anthony’s School students will be celebrated this Tuesday night at their annual awards banquet.
This is the 4th annual awards banquet, bringing together athletes who competed on all teams and it celebrates their successes.
This year was a strong year for athletics, with athletes competing in virtually all interscholastic sports; beginning with golf, all the way to track and field.
Each year a speaker is invited to address the athletes and offer words of encouragement to the student athletes pursuing their sporting discipline. This year they have invited back one of their own.
Gage Murphy graduated from St. Anthony’s and went on to the University of Alberta where he played on their golf team. He then earned a scholarship to New Mexico Junior College to play. In 2011 he was named to the Western Junior College Athletic Conference All-Conference Golf Team.
