WILTON, John David
September 22, 1975 - April 20, 2011

John Wilton passed away tragically on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in Bonnyville, Alberta at the age of 35. John was born in Calgary, and raised and schooled in Drumheller. Growing up in Wayne was always an adventure for him and there was never a dull moment when John was around. He spent his younger years climbing hills and trees (which didn’t always go in his favour), playing baseball, and you would see him every Boxing Day hiking down the tracks to Rosedale to play hockey.  A phrase John grew up hearing was “Put on your uptown clothes, we’re going out!” and this same phrase was one John often recited to his own sons. In 1998 he moved to Red Deer beginning his career in the oilfield and finally moving his family to Blackfalds, AB. where he made his home. He was an exceptional Dad and lived his life to the fullest. John enjoyed every minute spent with family and friends, taking great pleasure in their many quadding and camping trips especially so on the May long weekend turning it into a much anticipated yearly event. His garage was a great meeting place for card games and visits with friends.  He was employed with Nabors for thirteen years and formed many close friendships with his co-workers. John leaves to mourn, the love of his life, Jodi (nee Bixby) and his sons Austin and Mitchell. John is also survived by his mother Edith (Gord); step-father Gord (Trish); sisters Wendy (Laurence) Cuncannon and Colleen Wilton; brothers Eric (Nikki) Alford, Eliot Alford and Jordan Wilton; mother-in-law Delores Combs of Fort McMurray; father-in-law Bud (Shelley) Bixby of Red Deer; grandmother Frances Wilton of Drumheller; sisters-in-law Dolly, Jayme, Brandi Bixby and Laura (John) Laanstra; brother-in-law Jaydee Bixby; numerous nephews and nieces as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. John was predeceased  by his father David Wilton, grandfather Jim Wilton, memere Ellen Hamelin and papere Clement Hamelin. A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackfalds Community Hall, Blackfalds, Alberta. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in trust for Austin and Mitchell at any ATB Financial institution. Personal Alternatives in care of arrangements.
