THOMAS, Eva Bell
Eva Bell Thomas of Drumheller, beloved wife of the late Arnold, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2011 at the age of 87 years. Eva was born on June 7, 1923, the second of seven children to Grover and Sylvia Hardy. She attended Verdant Valley School. After the birth of her first child, she went to work for the Peterson family. It was during this time she met Arnold at a dance, which began a relationship which lasted 53 years. They were married in September 1943. They settled in the Drumheller area, where they raised their family. Eva was a wonderful mother and grandmother, great cook and to this day is remembered for having the cleanest wash on the Wayne Road. Eva is survived by her 6 daughters; Joyce (John), Lucille (Harley), Charlotte, Trudy (Ray), Rosetta (Bill) and Tracy (Larry), and her 8 sons; Barry (Maureen), Bob (Marilyn), Lorne (Lois), Ron (Diane), David (Norma), Pat (Jeannie), Lyle (Shelley) and Darcey (Jeanette). She is also survived by her 2 sisters Pat and Pearl, 3 brothers Charles, Ray and David, as well as 44 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Eva was predeceased by her loving husband Arnold, her parents Grover and Sylvia Hardy, brother Earl, sister Muriel, her children Darrel and Valeria and great granddaughter Sheiann. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m on Saturday April 23, 2011 at The Rosedale Hall. Expressions of sympathy may be left for the family at www.courtneywintersfuneralhome.ca.
