GARSON, Victor
August 16, 1934 - January 7, 2011

The family of Victor Garson announce his peaceful passing on Friday January 7, 2011 at the farm.  He was born August 16, 1934 along with his twin brother Hector, both having rheumatic fever. While Victor’s fever broke, Hector was not so lucky.  He passed away at 3 weeks.  Victor grew up on the family farm and took his education at Orkney.  He has lived on the same quarter section since 1935 so it was so fitting he passed away here.  After schooling, he stayed home and worked for his dad raising mostly cattle, grain farming and later raising purebreds.  He had cattle up until the day he died; 63 years.  After selling the last few, he came home and fell asleep on the ground from a massive heart attack.  It was as if the Lord said “goodbye cattle, goodbye Victor”.  He married Elsie Reschke on June 1, 1985 and together they shared 25 years of true happiness.  On his wedding day, he remarked that day that he was going to be a husband, father and grandfather all when he said ‘I do”.  Shortly after their marriage, he and Elsie calved out a 200 herd of purebred Herefords.  He had a wonderful life and Elsie says, “Thank you Lord for the great 25 years.  I was hoping for more but it was not meant to be”.  Victor was a very kind, loving man and one never heard words against him.  He was noted for his love, praise and great honesty and also his famous duck call which earned him the name “duck man”.  His greatest quote was, “If you trust people right while they are alive, you have no regrets when they are gone”.  He truly lived his life to the fullest and dearly loved his family and a good game of crib. He is lovingly remembered by his Elsie of 25 years; step-daughter Pattie; grandsons Lance Klassen and Ryan Dean; 4 great-grandchildren Meghen, Khloe, Kaiden, Serenity; sister Alice Moar; 2 brothers Jim & Allen as well as many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his parents James and Violet Garson; sisters Violet May & Jean Huxley; brothers Hector & George; 2 sons-in-law Bryan and Dan Reschke; brothers-in-law Frank Huxley & Marcy Moar; sister-in-law Marjorie Garson and nephew Clint Moar.  Funeral services were held on Friday January 14, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olive Evangelical Free Church, Three Hills with Rev. Harold Hunter officiating.  Interment was held at Sarcee Butte Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation.  Heartland Funeral Services Ltd, Olds entrusted with arrangements. 403-507-8610 www.heartlandfuneralservices.com.
