McEATHRON, James Hugh

Born January 5, 1917 in Scottsfield, Alberta
Died January 6, 2011 in Drumheller Alberta


Carbon Jim McEathron passed away peacefully the day after his 94th birthday in the hospital at Drumheller.  He leaves to mourn a large family of 8 children, numerous grandchildren and a larger community of folks who loved him.  He was predeceased by one son. Jim was given the nickname of “Carbon Jim” when he worked many years in Drumheller but lived in Carbon.  He was a character with a quick wit and had many a nickname for all the people he knew.  Anyone who knew Jim will be able to tell you a story of the origin of one of the many nicknames he invented. Cremation took place Friday, January 7th, 2011.  Please join us to celebrate Jim’s life at the Carbon Community Hall on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.  Funeral arrangements in care of Judy Quintin-Arvidson, Carbon.  Email condolences to jqarvie@hotmail.com.
