ROGERS, Ernie Donald

ROGERS, Ernie Donald, 69, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Drumheller Alberta Regional Health Center. He is predeceased by his wife, June Rose (Smith); survived by his five children: Chris, Kelly, Terry, of Nelson, BC, Alanna Nicholas (Dennis) of Strathmore, Alberta, Dennis (Monica) of Lacombe, Alberta.  He also leaves behind many close friends and his family pet Miss Molly. Born in Havelock, Ontario on December 27, 1941. The son of the late Wesley Rogers and Edna Varty of Warkworth.  Also surviving siblings are Gordon of Oshawa, Ontario, Fred of Scarborough, Ontario, Loella Cale (Bill) of Ponty Pool, Ontario, Barbara Francis (Tom) of Little Britain, Ontario, Kathaleen Hislop (Frank) of Campbellford, Ontario. Also, he is predeceasded by his brother Bert of Campbellford, Ontario. Papa will also be sadly missed by the following grandchildren, Codey, Harley, Dustin, Brandon, Nathan, Travis, Brooke, Brandon and (Bree-ann). Ernie migrated from Cobourg, Ontario with his late wife June in 1998, he operated heavy equipment and ended his career in November 2010. Ernie enjoyed giving a helping hand to family and friends and neighbors, from snow removal to rotor-tilling their gardens and just being there as a dear father/Papa and friend. Ernie will rest with his late wife June at his daughter’s house in Strathmore, Alberta until a date has been chosen for their final resting place together in the Drumheller Municipal Cemetery Columbarium.
