KAKUK, Effie (Reeves)
November 4, 1933 - January 2, 2011
Effie was born to William and Euphemia Reeves at Craigmyle Hospital, third child after Elaine and Jack. She attended school in Delia and took secretary training in Calgary, where she worked before getting married. Effie was proud to be married to Johnnie Kakuk for 56 years (April 24, 1954). They have 3 children: Angie (Don) of Delia, Larry of Drumheller, and Danny (Diane) of Calgary. Her grandchildren: Jesse and Tasha Moe and Maggie and Eric Kakuk. Effie and Johnnie farmed for many years near Delia where she drove a grain truck at harvest. She was a secretary at the Delia School, and a director on the Delia Municipal Library Board along with the Ag Society. She loved to read, quilt, knit, and play music (Piano and keyboard) with her Dad on the violin. They enjoyed many trips to the states over the years and made wonderful friends in Yuma. Effie enjoyed playing the jam sessions while boondocking. A Funeral Service for Effie will be held at Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Chapel on Friday January 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will be held at the Drumheller Cemetery.
