MURRAY, Raynice (Rae) Yvonne

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of Rae on October 22, 2010. Rae leaves to mourn her life partner Terry Patient; daughters Terri-Lynn Dodd (Ron), Tammi Nygaard (Ross) and step-daughter Liane Franklin (Dave); grandchildren, James, Rae-Ann, Russell, Alicia, Ross, Pamela and Shawn. Rae was a wonderful sister to Bev Sanders (Norm) and Orlene Bishop (Lorne). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunties. Rae was predeceased by her father Raymond Law, mother Irene, stepfather Claude Bardell, and former husbands Arnold Provencher and Robert (Bob) Murray. Rae was raised on the family farm and received her education in the Hussar community before setting out to serve with the Canadian Air Force. Raising her daughters was the most important milestone in her life. Rae then pursued her interest in the travel industry, opening “The Travel Place” in Drumheller and subsequently, “Northside Travel” in Calgary. During the “travel years”, Rae and Terry traveled extensively throughout the world. Retirement was filled with time spent in the garden, family, and home, all of which were very important to her. She was a devoted fan of Calgary sports teams and her passion and care to the senior community that she served will be greatly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, October 27 at Leyden’s Funeral Home, 304 - 18th Ave. S.W. Calgary. Memorial donations may be made in Rae’s honour directly to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, #200, 119 - 14th St. N.W. Calgary, T2N 1Z6.
