CRAWFORD, Marjorie Elizabeth “Marge”
October 17, 1937 - August 2, 2010
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Marge Crawford, age 72 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Monday, August 2 after a painful struggle with cancer. Marge is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd and children, Tara (Terry), Deanne (Cliff) and Danny (Trish). “Mom Mom” will be missed by her 12 grandchildren: Jennifer, Jeffrey, Christina, Daniel and Laura Costain; Elynn, Tyler, Shawna and Cindy Sharpe; and Lindsay, Brandon and Joshua Crawford; and one great grandchild, Cameron. Marge is also survived by her sisters Lydia Biblow and Dorothy (Pete) Snigelski; and her brothers Ralph (Lillian) Hertz and Danny (Bonnie) Hertz; and numerous nieces and nephews. Marge is predeceased by her parents Rose and Nick Hertz and sisters Rosie and Lee. Marge was born in Cereal, AB and grew up on a farm in the New Brigden, Oyen area. She graduated from the Holy Cross School of Nursing in 1959, and actively nursed in Calgary, Consort, Red Deer and Drumheller for many years. Marge and Lloyd were married in 1961 and raised their family in Drumheller. After their retirement, Marge and Lloyd operated Riverside Inn Bed & Breakfast for 10 years. Marge’s passion was her family and she enjoyed showing her love for her family through her delicious meals and treats and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Even in her final days Mom was concerned about her family and gave us some great memories. We are grateful for the excellent care that Mom received at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre Unit 47 and for the support of our family and friends. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Church on Friday, August 6 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
