Ellen Louise (nee Cox)

– April 18, 2010

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our mother, our memére on April 18, 2010 at the age of 87. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Bonnie (Adrian) of Prince George, BC, Edith of Hodgeville, Sask; sons: Leonard (Dagmar) of Innisfail, AB, David/Rusty (Shirley) of Drumheller, AB and Allen of Drumheller; daughter-in-law Annie of Drumheller, AB. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Brad, Dennis, Clint and Kim Whitford, Len Jr. & Tanya Hamelin, Evan Hamelin, Wendy Cuncannon, John Wilton, Amanda & Steven Hamelin; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Ellen was predeceased by her husband Clement in 1995; sons: Bob, Terry and Bernard; her daughter Alpha and her granddaughters Kelley Hamelin and Sherry Horn. Mom was born in Wainwright, Alberta. She then moved to Munson Alberta with her family to homestead at the age of two. She lived there until 1940 where she then moved to Ajax, Ontario to join the war effort in an ammunition factory. In this factory she met and married her husband Clem. Clem took her to his hometown of Penetang, Ontario and it was there that they raised their family.  In 1969 the family moved to Drumheller, AB.
A Service Of Remembrance will be held at Courtney-Winters Funeral Chapel, Drumheller, AB on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. If friends desire Memorial Donations may be made to the Sunshine Lodge, 698 6 Ave. East, Drumheller, AB.
