“Marg”
November 29, 1958 - May 12, 2024
It is with deep heartache that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, Sister-in-law, Aunt, Cousin and Niece, Margaret, on May 12, 2024, surrounded by family at the age of 65 years.
Marg was born on November 29th, 1958, in Rumsey and was the 6th child of 7 to Laura and Harold Pennock. She attended Rumsey School through grade 8 and then grade 9 to 12 at Morrin School where she met the love of her life, Leonard Sharpe. After high school graduation Marg attended Mount Royal College for Interior Design before returning home. On October 14th, 1978, she married her high school sweetheart, Len, and together they settled near Munson to farm and raise their family.
In 1989 Marg began working at Morrin School. In the 25 years working there she formed long lasting relationships with countless students and staff. So many people were impacted by her heartwarming personality.
Throughout her life Marg had many pastimes and hobbies which included curling, reading, camping, cross stitch, gardening, diamond painting, cards and especially quilting, which will be treasured forever by many.
In 2013 Len and Marg purchased a house in Maricopa, Arizona and enjoyed every winter since as snowbirds. Spending time with friends and finding a lucky slot machine at the casinos were a great joy to her down south. Countless trips to Mexico, multiple cruises and summers camping at Red Deer and Michichi helped fill her retirement years.
Marg is survived by her loving husband, Len, her son Jeff (Kim) and daughters Krystal and Alicia (Brad) Greene. Her beloved grandchildren Haylee, Katrina, Julia, Abram, Aidan, Kailey and Emma. Also survived by her sister Mary Newton and brothers George (Cher), Alan, Gene (Betty), brother-in-law Erick Hatt, father and mother-in-law Rick and Anna Sharpe, brother-in-law Cliff (Deanne) and sisters-in-law Cheryl Devaleriola and Susan (Mark) Doyle, numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many other cherished friends and loved ones. Marg was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Laura Pennock, sisters Elsie Hatt and Doris Cawiezel, sister-in-law Darlene Pennock and brothers-in-law Trevor Newton, Lorry Cawiezel, and Robbie Devaleriola.
There will be a celebration of life held at Michichi Campground on August 3, 2024. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Friends of Morrin School (FMSC) or Acute Care at the Drumheller Area Health Foundation.
