July 13, 1953 - July 29, 2021

Bill Rosgen of Calgary, Alberta, husband of Wendy Rosgen passed away after a lengthy illness on July 29, 2021 at the age of 68 years.
Bill was born in Drumheller on July 13, 1953 to parents Ed and Ruby Rosgen, one of a family of eight. He first attended school in Michichi and then moved to high school in Delia. He had a real love of farming, and with his wife Wendy, farmed first in Michichi, then in Dalum. They farmed for 28 years, then Bill pursued his passion of flying by becoming an agricultural pilot and flying a spray plane. He worked at this for two years in Taber, then moved to North Battleford. There he worked for Fran and Pat de Kock, where he was adopted as part of the family. He and Wendy stayed in Saskatchewan for twelve years until illness forced him to retire. They then moved to Cochrane and eventually Calgary to be close to family.
Besides his wife Wendy, Bill is survived by his son Bill Jr. and his wife Lana. Bill was blessed with two wonderful granddaughters, Astrid (4) and Faye (2). They reside in Sunnyvale, California where Bill Jr. works for Google. Bill is also survived by 3 sisters, Anita Coderre (Roland), Carol Chorney (Dave), Shelley Yavis (Pat), 4 brothers, Jerry (Janie), Jim (Jan), Tony (Bev) and Bob (Lisa), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Bill was predeceased by his parents Ed and Ruby Rosgen.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 10:00 A.M.-10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 178, 3rd Street West, Drumheller, Alberta. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Father Lukas as celebrant. Interment will be at the Drumheller Cemetery. There will be a luncheon service at St. Anthony’s Hall directly after the interment.
