HAMPTON, MARIE ANNA (Griffith)
December 22, 1929 - December 21, 2016
Marie passed away on December 21, 2016 at the age of 86. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Stan (Wanda), Neil; grandchildren: Karen Block (Chad) and Tara Vanden Pol (Robert); great grandchildren: Morgan and Macy Block, Jayden and Cameron Vanden Pol; and sister-in-law Laura Griffith. Marie was predeceased by her husband Dawn in 2006 and recently her brother John Griffith earlier this year. Marie and Dawn raised their children on the family farm west of Rowley. Many more enjoyable memories were made when they moved into Rumsey. Square dancing, card games, curling, church, gardening, visiting and socializing and watching community sports were memorable parts of Marie’s life. Family was very important to Marie, and she enjoyed time spent with her many aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. In 2005, Marie moved to Drumheller. She resided in the Manor, Sunshine & Hillsview Lodge and Continuing Care. Thank you to all the caring staff that helped Marie and her family over the years. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rowley Community Hall with Pastor Skip MacArthur officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Marie to the Drumheller Continuing Care Recreation Department, 351 9th Street NW, Drumheller, AB T0J 0Y1.
