CARRA, RICHARD KEITH

Richard Keith Carra passed away at the age of 84 on December 13, 2016 at the Claresholm General Hospital. Richard was born on June 24, 1932 in Rowley, Alberta, the youngest child of George and Marie Carra. He was raised on a farm east of Rowley and continued to farm until 1971 when he moved into the Town of Drumheller. He received his mechanics license and worked for a couple of shops before starting his own business in 1979 – Big C Service Ltd. He retired and sold his business in 1997 and moved to Claresholm, Alberta. Richard married Mary Fehr in July 1970 in Langley B.C. They had a long and happy marriage celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary this past July. Once in Claresholm, Richard took up gardening to fill his time, building his own greenhouse and growing tomatoes and peppers. He enjoyed chatting with people whether he knew them or not. Going for a walk downtown always took a long time because he would always find someone to talk to. Richard was predeceased by his parents, George and Marie, two sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his wife Mary, son Philip (Karen), daughter Shirley, granddaughter Rebekkah, brother Sam and several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service was held at the Claresholm Pentecostal Assembly (4716-2nd Street West, Claresholm) on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 2:00 P.M.
