Allan Robert Jones (A.J., Jonesy) passed away at his home in Drumheller on August 6, 2016 at 62 years of age. Allan was one-of-a-kind and a good friend to many, including family members. He will be missed. Allan was a true Drumhellerite, living in the valley for most of his life. He did manage to do a fair bit of travelling to the U.S. in his early years and more recently, he and Lil enjoyed their yearly vacations to Jamaica with family and friends. He had several occupations over the course of his life: rig worker, bodyshop man, carpenter and R.V. technician. Besides his lifelong companion Lil Bowen, Allan is survived by his sister Linda (Steve) Klein of Airdrie; Nieces Terri (Mike) Bassie of Drumheller, Dawn Jones and Megan Jones of Calgary, Joan Jones of Moscow, Idaho; nephews Michael Kochan of Drumheller and Mike Jones of Bragg Creek; great nieces Kim (Cody Kelm) Bassie, Nikki Bassie, and great nephews J.D. and Mathew Jones, and Tristan Ball, and one very special little person, Allan’s beloved great-great nephew, little Cache Kelm, 5 years old. Also left is his pet and faithful companion Sophie. Allan was predeceased by his parents, William and Vimy Jones, and brothers Tom and Doug Jones. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Allan’s life at Terri and Mike Bassie’s, where Allan spent many happy hours, at 309 - 5 Street East, at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016.
