GARRIOCK, John Raymond

John Raymond Garriock, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle passed peacefully in his sleep on the morning of May 18, 2016 at his home in Drumheller. John was born in Brooks, Alberta to Edith and Archie Garriock on August 5, 1947. Edith and Archie predeceased John who is survived by his lovng wife of 45 years Ethel, 2 sons Gordon and Wade (Kassia), 3 grandchildren, Phoenix, Keegan and Rylee. John is also survived by 3 brothers and 1 sister, Wesley, Don, Dan and Norma. John and Ethel moved to Drumheller in 1972 when John started his new position with Alberta Power where a career of 33 years ensued. In retirement, his passion was his grandchildren and grandnephew and grandniece Joshua and Kaylee. When they were not around, he would pass his time tending to his garden and yard. There will be a service on Thursday, May 26 at 1:00 pm at Courtney-Winter’s Funeral Home in Drumheller, 199 2nd Street West with a reception to follow at the Legion.
