Margaret Siwy of Drumheller (Extended Care), beloved wife of the late Vincent Siwy, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on March 16, 2015 at the age of 93 years. Margaret was born in Podzameczek, Poland on October 26, 1921. She immigrated to Canada in 1959 where she married Vincent in Drumheller. Margaret was a homemaker and enjoyed baking. She was an avid gardener. She was predeceased by her sister Carol (Poland) in 1971, and her husband Vincent in 1987. She leaves to mourn, her daughter Mary Payne of Drumheller, her grandson Devin and granddaughter Aisha of Canmore, a nephew Albert and Sharon Siwy of Edmonton. Also 2 nephews, 3 nieces and numerous relatives in Poland. A prayer service was held at 7:30 pm on Friday, March 20. Funeral Mass, celebrated by Father Fernando, was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by interment at the Drumheller Cemetery and reception at St. Anthony’s Hall. Courtney-Winters Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements. If friends so desire a donation can be made to a charity of ones choice.
