MILLAR, Carl
It is with deep sadness that we must announce the passing of Carl C. Miller, age 84, of Amherst. Carl passed away at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre on May 1, 2013. Born in Drumheller, AB, he was a son of the late Chris and Magda (Nielsen) Miller. Carl’s passion was his farming and repairing machinery. Originally from Alberta, he met his young wife Audrey who was teaching at the time. They moved to Shinimicas in 1967 where he operated his farm and worked full time at Fort Equipment. In the winter months he enjoyed Curling at the Oxford Curling Club. In their later years he and Audrey enjoyed traveling throughout Canada, and once to Denmark. He will be sadly missed by his wife Audrey (Wilson), Amherst; children, Kier (Joan), Sussex Corner, NB, Serena (Gary) Galloway, Loveland, CO and Shane, Lethbridge, AB; 5 grandchildren, Amy, Tina, Jayme, Tristan and Kelsey; sisters, Gerda (Ian) Sallows, Drumheller, AB and Doris Miller, Sherwood Park, AB; brother Niel, Innisfail, AB. He was predeceased by sister Marie Larsen. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Jones Family at the Furlong Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St., Amherst, NS B4H 3B2 where visiting hours will take place on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service was held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11 am, the Rev. Charlotte Ross officiating. Burial will take place in the River Hebert Cemetery at a later date.
