On Saturday, July 28 the Munson Fire Department celebrated 100 years by gathering at the Fire Hall for a barbecue and family fun. The Munson Volunteer Fire Department was established on July 29, 1912. The antique fire hose, which the Munson Fire Department had bought in 1914, was loaned back to them for the celebration courtesy of The Homestead Museum. Coinciding with Carbon’s Centennial celebrations, from August 9 to 12, and the 65th anniversary of the Carbon Lions Club, the Village of Carbon and the Lions have come together to create a Centennial Park.
