Workers have been bustling around the future site of Chinook Credit Union. First breaking ground on September 30, 2011, things are looking good for the project to be completed on target.
The site is located where Home Hardware formerly stood, across from the post office.
“Things are going very well and we are looking to be finished by mid to late October this year,” said Stuart Hill, vice president of corporate services for Chinook Credit Union Ltd.
Hill said everything has been progressing steadily on site, and that the windows have recently been put into place. Work on the interior of the building can begin now he said, along with furnishing the new branch.
Thanks to the fairly mild winter, there weren’t too many delays to the project and crews were able to continue building through the colder months.
Hill said the staff in the current Drumheller branch are getting very excited to make the move into the new facility.
“We are really looking forward to getting the building up, I think it will really stand out in the town,” said Hill.
