A man who was discovered unconscious on a boulevard in Nacmine early Monday morning with severe injuries to his head and breathing difficulties was taken off life support Wednesday.

At about 8 p.m. Wednesday, he passed away.
Earlier in the day, the man accused of aggravated assault  following the discovery of Neil Austin McMaster, 55,  was released on $1,000 bail.
Calvin Wade Laughlin, 49, of Drumheller made an appearance in provincial court in Drumheller on Wednesday, May 4 for a show cause hearing to speak to his release. Duty council represented him.
As it is an indictable offence, Laughlin has the choice to be tried in provincial court or in Court of Queen’s Bench, by either a judge alone or by a judge and jury. Laughlin reserved his election.
About six acquittances of Laughlin were in the court room.
Judge Grieve released Laughlin on $1,000 bail, which one supporter said they would post Wednesday afternoon. He had strict conditions attached to his bail.
He is scheduled to appear in provincial court in Drumheller on Friday, May 27.
After McMaster, 55, was discovered early Monday morning, he was taken to Calgary via STARS Air Ambulance and he was put on life support.
Police say an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.  Upon the cause of death being determined, the investigation will be reviewed.
