Political candidates forum next Tuesday

Those wishing to have an informed position heading to the ballot box in this year’s federal elections can look to the all candidates forum coming up on April 26.     This year’s forum is co-hosted by the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce and the Alberta Teacher’s Association Drumheller Sub Local. It is set to take place at Kaleidoscope Theatre at 6:30 p.m. next Tuesday.
Roxanne Clark of the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce says they have extended an invitation to all candidates including (in alphabetical order) Omar Harb of the Liberal Party, Ellen Parker of the NDP Party, Konrad Schellenberg of the Green Party, Kevin Sorenson of the Conservative Party and independent candidate John C. Turner. As of Tuesday, Gerard Groenendijk of the Christian Heritage Party has not been confirmed to speak.
The format will allow the candidates to give a brief introduction, followed by a question and answer period. Those wanting to participate in the dialogue with the candidates can submit their questions in writing, or present them in an open mike format. The session will close with an address by each candidate.
Chamber of Commerce president Barry Fullerton will chair the event, which is expected to last about an hour and a half.
Doors open at Kaleidoscope Theatre at 6 p.m.  next Tuesday, with forum to begin at 6:30 p.m.
