Progress on the Rail to Trails pathway project is continuing.
The Midland Bridge section of the Drumheller Rails to Trails system is nearing completion and is expected to open in the next 4-6 weeks.
Currently, wooden decking has been installed to enhance active transportation, whether you prefer walking, running, or cycling.
Additionally, a 4-foot fence will be added on either side, along with a decorative border to create an attractive and safe space for everyone to enjoy.
Also, paving from the intersection of Highway 9 and South Railway Avenue to 2nd Street West has been completed, providing a new way to navigate to downtown Drumheller. Work to install a new pathway surface from 2nd Street west to the Midland Bridge is also underway, as crews remove the railway ballast.
