Drumheller RCMP lay charges in relation to drug trafficking

Drumheller General Investigation Section (GIS), assisted by Lethbridge Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT), Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU), and Drumheller general duty officers, conducted an investigation into drug trafficking activities between July and August 2022. As a result of the investigation, evidence was obtained on Wednesday, August 3 that lead to the arrest of two suspects.

On Thursday, August 4 Drumheller RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the Town of Drumheller, as well as search warrants on two vehicles. As a result of these searches, the following items were seized by RCMP:

· 101 grams of Psilocybin

· 605 Oxycodone Pills

· 16 Fentanyl Tablets

· 10 Tylenol 3 Tablets

· 180.33 grams of Methamphetamine

· 14.66 grams of Fentanyl

· 1279 grams of Cannabis

· Brass Knuckles

· $20,965 Canadian Currency.

Steven Dixon, 43, and Jennifer Dixon, 36, both residents of Drumheller, and have been charged with the following:

· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (4) – Psilocybin, Oxycodone, Fentanyl and Methamphetamine

· Possession of Proceeds of Crime

· Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

· Possession of a Controlled Substance

Both are scheduled to appear in provincial court in Drumheller on Friday, September 16.
