Detour on Highway 575 in place for repairs

Motorists can expect minor delays because of slide repairs being completed along a section of Highway 575, west of Drumheller in Kneehill County.
Lanes in both directions, between Range Roads 22-2 and 22-4, are closed to traffic while the repair work is underway, and motorists are being asked to detour north to Township Road 30-0.
A spokesperson for Alberta Transportation told the Mail, “Pile walls are being drilled directly into the ground at very close spacing to slow the progression of a slow-moving landslide in the area.”
Work began on Monday, February 1 with an expected completion date of Monday, February 22. The estimated cost for the project is $795,000 and weather conditions are not expected to have an impact.
Previous repairs, separate from the ongoing work, were completed in the area in summer 2020.
